This is taken from the album Stars Wars and other Galactic Funk, which was released in 1977 by Meco. It was tremendously successful for an intrumental album at the time and to this day is one of the highest selling intrumental albums.
This is an upgrade to 3D for the Animator vs. Animation
concept which was also seen in this oscar winning short.
It shows what a real 3D desktop would look like - I particulary like the sense of size and scale that the animation conveys.
This animation was a student film completed in 8 months by Justin Chenton .
This clip from The Discovery Channel
on 'How photographic lenses are made' is perhaps a bit geeky but I found it interesting enough to watch to the end. When you see how exacting the standards are and how manual the process is, it's easy to see why a good lens system is worth thousands of dollars.
The effects in the new Spiderman movies are great and all but the one thing missing is a theme song - a cheesy, 60's theme song. Well watch this and behold the magic that is retro and modern all at the same time.
Imogen Heap is a new singer to my ears but I do like what I've heard so far. From what I've read
she's had some success lately with the single 'Let's Go' appearing on the soundtrack for the romantic comedy, The Holiday , and also appearing in the former hit show, The O.C.
This is a good parody clip simple because it has so much truth. You can totally buy that Microsoft would totally overly design and complicate something like a new phone. They would add far too many buttons and no doubt create some new innovative shape that would be terrible to actually use in real life. I hope some Microsoft engineers are watching this.
After the rather excellent first Shrek film was such a success, it would seem that Dreamworks are really trying the mine that vein of gold. I have nothing against good sequels but it would seem that Shrek is starting down a pretty well trodden path of gags. I could be wrong but this looks like they threw everything into a big pot and hoped it would be funny.
This is the poppiest thing you'll hear today and it's charting like crazy at the moment.
Avril Lavigne
has shown she has some staying power and is doing pretty well with the singles from her current album.
I hope for her sake that she can maintain some of that fanatical teenage support when her fanbase suddenly decides to grow up into twentysomethings.
I don't know who this young girl is or where she learnt to dance but I think she has some very funky moves. Of course, most things look better when you slow them down or speed them up, but she definitely is a dancer who would stand out on the dancefloor. And don't you wonder what sort of big hair she has under that huge hat?
Balls of Fury looks like the same breed of film as Dodgeball only without Ben Stiller's participation. As I watch this trailer I keep thinking that this seems like a movie designed for Jack Black, but strangely starring someone else. It opens in the US in September 2007.
