This promo by INTEL tries to showcase what they want to achieve in the future with UMPC (Ultra Mobile Personal Computers). It is a bit fantastical but certainly hooked me in to the ideas that it was trying to hype. I don't think many of us would pass up the opportunity to use such a versatile device in the future. The problem for Intel will be actually making something that can fulfill that promise.
On this clip from 'American Idol Gives Back' we get a taste of the utterly fantastic Jack Black as he sings Seal's 'Kiss From A Rose'. It's good to see someone taking the whole American Idol seriousness down a notch and having a bit of fun at their expense. The judges certainly deserve it.
When people in the future ask what the Internet has given us, I like to think that we'll respond with showing them this video of a random man in a Darth Vader mask playing the Star Wars theme on his bagpipes. The series of tubes that we call the interweb, is a beautiful thing.
Just watch this video a couple of times and try to count how many ways this could go horribly wrong. It's an amzing jump and one that you only do if you're not actually thinking about the consequences too much. I would guess that he tried a straight jump into the pool first and then decided to spice it up with a 360 degree spin. But how scary would it have been the first time he tried it?
Did you used to like those 'Fold-ins' that they have on the back cover of MAD magazine? Well, here Beck shows us what they would look like in the real world.
This crazy hard obstacle course is courtesy of Japanese Television. This video shows one of the very few participants who manages to get through all the separate challenges to reach to the final prize. It really is amazing what you can come up with to physically test someone if given the time and resources.
I think most people like movie mistakes because it goes to show that even when you spend $80 million dollars and have 500 people work on a single project, you can still make glaringly obvious goofs. Of course, I think it would have taken a pretty high calibre film geek to have spotted some of these mistakes. But once you see them, you'll never watch that film with the same eyes again.
Once upon a time you impressed the ladies with exemplary 'Foxtrot' skills. These days you have to basically glide like you have no internal bone structure and take on all the movement characteristics of a bubbling brook. Life is so hard for today's youth.
Here's one of the better video mashups for the song, 'RE:Your Brains' by Jonathan Coultan . Jonathan is rather unique amongst a lot of musicians in that he releases his songs under the Creative Commons license and encourages mashups. This first video takes elements from 'Thriller', 'Shaun of the Dead' and more.
In case you've never heard of Jonathan Coulton before, here he is singing 'RE:Your Brains' in concert. I think he has a good relaxed feel to his shows and also encourages video of his concerts by fans.
This is an absolutely fantastic cover of Sir Mix-a-lot's 'Baby Got Back' which I have included for no other reason than it's great.
